Garden Grove, CA, 5/22/19 – This year the National Conference of Catechetical Leadership has chosen to honor the late Bill Dinger with the Catechetical Award. The NCCL selects a recipient of this award through nominations from the entire nation, provided by the Representative Council. This award honors someone who has lived a life of witness to the Word of God and has a magnanimous spirit of love and service to the Church, a vocation to ministry characterized by a pioneering spirit and innovative vision, and a dedication and significant contribution to the ministry of catechesis in the Church at large.

Through intentional discernment, prayerful dialogue, and reflection, Bill was chosen. He has been selected for his promotion of various movements within NCCL, through his tremendous advocacy of our membership, the field of catechesis and evangelization in the Church, and his dedication to the professional development and encouragement of professional ministers and the advancement of the Latino/Hispanic church in America. His many years with Sadlier, caring for the family business, and assisting the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Family are just some of the reasons Bill is remembered as a good and faithful servant.
